"A Faraday Cage for the Soul: An Artist’s Journey Through Isolation, Identity, & the Digital Dystopia”
[Kerhonkson, New York August 16-November 23] – RAE has opened the doors to FARADAY CAGE, an immersive, five-room installation that transforms a small prefab house on the edge of a winding road in Upstate New York into a living exploration of isolation, identity and the anxieties of the digital age. Running through November 23, the exhibition invites visitors inside a space where domestic life collides with absurdity, technology and fractured memory.
According to RAE: “FARADAY CAGE is part fever dream, part survival mechanism. It’s an intimate look at how we process crises, relationships and the need for connection.”
In this tiny home, the mind never stops, the studio never stops. It is both sanctuary and prison; where animatronic figures serve as replacements for absent relationships and mirror the fractured family dynamics of a divided society. Video installations confront the weaponization of news and diary-like murals search inward, grappling with what youth, race, gender and power have come to symbolize in these times— but is it all too late? The modest ranch-style house is on loan and set to be demolished by its owners once the exhibition ends in November.
